Dr Simon Lee, joined the Malaysian Police Force in 1975 and went through a Tactical Guerrilla Warfare course and was later assigned Pasukan Polis Hutan Bridge Tengah Base, in Ulu Kinta, Ipoh, Perak. He moved up the ranks was finally promoted to the rank of Sub Inspector.
Despite his full-time career in the Police Force and with a heavy workload as an Investigating Officer with the CID, Simon a committed “lifelong learning practitioner” continued to pursue his academic passion through the various courses both undergraduate and postgraduate. In 1995 he graduated with a degree in law from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. In 2005, he graduated with an MBA from University Utara Malaysia. In 2010 despite all odds he pursued his doctorate study under the supervision of Professor Dr. Fauziah Bin Fanim and completed the course work with 3.69 CGPA. His final thesis was on Human Resource Management of the Penang Police and the impact of Corruption. He successfully completed his DBA Program on the 24/8/2015 from University Utara Malaysia thus earning a Doctorate Degree.
Since leaving the Police Force Dr Simon Lee has been keeping himself busy with various teaching and consulting assignments. Some of his Corporate Clients are Ceva Cargo Company and AMD, Reness, Hitachi, Osram, Motorola and Bursa Saham Malaysia.
Dr Simon Lee has received numerous letters of honour of his contribution toward the societies from the various government department and NGOs including Penang Police Chief and the Inspector General of Police. In 2014, he was awarded with the Medal “Bentera Pasukan Polis” (BPP) from His Majesty the King of Malaysia in recognition of his services to the Malaysian Police Force. In 2019 received Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara (PJPN) from Penang Governor.
