Having acquired a taste for flying through the Singapore Junior Flying Club while schooling, I enrolled into the Republic of Singapore Air Force to fly. I obtained the Flying Wings in 1983, and retired in 2011. In that time, I was privileged to interact and learn from some of the best people and organisations from the different continents. I acquired deep knowledge and experience in leading people, formulating and implementing strategies, and transforming organisations.
In the early 2000s, I became interested in Sustainability, and started equipping myself with the necessary knowledge. One of the first courses I took was the Singapore Certified Energy Manager course, certified by the National Environment Agency. I established Green Ravolution Pte. Ltd. to translate some aspects of the Sustainable Singapore Blueprint into action – specifically in recycling and energy efficiency.
Throughout my public and business life, I have always believed that continuous education is a critical part of our being able to perform at the highest levels. I am excited and look forward to playing a constructive role to advise and support education in the hospitality sector.
