Professor Hassan Ali is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Kolej MDIS Malaysia, a Singapore-based private higher education institution at EduCity in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia.
He began his professional journey as an Assistant Manager at Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad before transitioning into academia with a 27-year tenure at Universiti Utara Malaysia, holding multiple administrative roles including Director of Career Development, Deputy Dean of Business Management, and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) from 2013 to 2017.
His scholarship focuses on workplace human behaviour — encompassing motivation, job satisfaction, organisational citizenship, safety culture, gender wage gaps, bullying, stress, and integrity — and he has presented at numerous conferences and published in refereed journals.
A firm believer in university–industry partnerships and work-integrated learning (WIL), he led a Ministry task force developing guidelines for the 2u2i programme, pairing classroom and workplace learning, and maintains strong connections with the World Association of Cooperative Education (WACE).
He holds a BSc in Agribusiness (Universiti Pertanian Malaysia), an MBA (University of Keele, UK), a PhD in Management (Aston University, UK), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship (University of Cambridge, UK).
